What’s your hosting superpower?
I think my superpower is making people feel welcome and at ease. Years of teaching burlesque has given me my own level of confidence, and the ability to boost other people's self-confidence, to help them shed their inhibitions and embrace who they are. This helps to create welcoming, judgment-free spaces where people can connect.
What do you love most about hosting singles events?
I love it when someone who walked in all nervous and unsure, walks out with their head high and full of confidence having made genuine connections. Watching them relax and light up when they realise they feel safe to be themselves and they let their walls down and have fun.
What’s one thing you always make sure happens at your events?
I make sure that everyone takes part and no one feels ignored or left out. I’m a natural flirt and I love a chat, so I help those who don't feel able to make the first move to jump into conversations so that everyone has a good time.
What would you order at the bar at one of our events?
I'm a tea girl, so if there's tea available I'm happy. If not, a soda and lime will suffice. Having been teetotal for more years than I can remember, I'll be looking for anything non-alcoholic. My craziness and confidence is all natural and not because I've had a drink.
What would you say to someone coming to one of our events for the first time?
“Welcome. Be open-minded and be you! Everyone is here for the same reason, to have a good time and to connect with others. No pressure, no judgement, just good vibes and people to meet!”
What would you be doing if you weren’t hosting an Everywhere We Meet Event?
I am someone who has to be busy, so I'm always on the go. When I'm not hosting an EWM event, I'm either writing a quiz, hosting a quiz night, teaching a burlesque class, choreographing a new routine, or performing, along with balancing being a wife and mum of three. I'm full of energy, so I'm always on the go and very rarely sit still.
